How we helped

The task of remotely supporting a successful, rapidly expanding business adding three new locations in one year is no small thing. But working with James and Miracle at Not Just Coffee was never boring. Each new location they designed for Not Just Coffee in Charlotte, NC was unique with its own business model and culture that reflected and served that neighborhood while fitting into the larger company culture.

My team, based remotely, needed to design an on-going training and customer engagement program that not only supported the existing staff and management team but fostered a cohesive culture between locations and strengthened Not Just Coffee's connection to our company as it's main supplier or specialty coffee. 

We worked diligently to get to know each manager and the specific challenges of their location meeting with them one-on-one and for monthly coffee tastings and quarterly equipment maintenance training. We also identified ways to offer opportunities that would afford key staff members a chance to further their specialty coffee education making them more valuable to Not Just Coffee, bolstering their coffee knowledge, and further connecting them to our company.

Finally, I met personally with James and Miracle to discuss plans for each new location, coordinate equipment purchases and installations, give feedback on bar design decisions, and talk about strategic plans for the company as a whole. 

 
 
 

Good results

The biggest accomplishment of the team in this relationship was that we listened to the strengths and challenges of each key individual within the business, helped identify what they needed to be successful, and supported them in accomplishing their goals. The results are gorgeous and the partnership continues to be a strong one even as Not Just Coffee continues to evolve its business model.
